SLU celebrates Voter Registration Efforts
With WFB, LQA and Urban Latino Magazine

New York, NY - On Saturday, October 9th, 2004, Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. will join Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc., to provide recognition and commend the communal efforts of participating sponsors of Omega Phi Beta's National Voter Registration Drive. The celebration will be sponsored by Urban Latino Magazine and it will take place at Club Vue in New York City.

Believing in the importance of voting, Sigma Lambda Upsilon contributed to Omega Phi Beta's cause of registering voters. As a local sponsor in Syracuse, NY, the Eta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon teamed up with Omega Phi Beta's Xi Chapter to sign people up to vote, educate them on the significance of voting and to inform them how crucial their vote is to this year's election. Other sponsors of voter registration drive include: Voto Latino, La Unidad Latina/Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), Latinosstep.com (East Coast), Sofritoforyoursoul.com (East Coast), Collegiate Circuit.com (West Coast), ConXion.com (Upstate New York) and USLatino.com (Rhode Island, Miami & Dominican Republic).

With a population estimated at over 31 million and the top ten status with Latino population comprising 40% of the electoral votes for the US President, the Latino population will play a decisive role in the 2004 elections. The Latino Vote could decide who is the next president of the United Status and will influence many state and local elections.

To be placed on the guestlist for free admission to the event sponsored by Urban Latino Magazine, please contact Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at Vote@OmegaPhiBeta.org
