Sigma Lambda Promoting Education, the Arts, our Roots, Leadership and Service is a mentorship program designed and geared toward girls' ages 8 to 14 with the intention of instilling a sense of sisterhood, cultural pride, academic excellence and service to the community within its participants, through team-building activities and projects. The PEARLS program has touched the lives of over 40 young girls who look to the program as an outlet for creativity and exposure to life outside their school walls and environment. "This will be a GREAT event benefiting our youth! The ticket price will include food, entertainment and performances by various youth organizations, our very own National Performance Team, the Sigma Lambda PEARLS and more. So please come out and support this event Advance ticket sales only, so make sure you purchase your $10 ticket early, there will be no tickets sold at the door," says Hermana Jennifer Rodriguez, Co-captain of the National Performance Team of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. was founded on December 1, 1987 at Binghamton University as an organization that would provide sisterhood and support while also promoting academic achievement, service to the community and cultural enrichment. Today, 17 years later, the sorority's purpose remains to unite women committed to seeking the political and social advancement of the under-represented populations. Through the Hermanas leadership, the sorority has 27 undergraduate chapters at over 30 campuses, 13 graduate/professional chapters and has touched the lives of more than 300 women.
