All the proceeds from the event will benefit S.O.U.L. (Steppin' Off to Unite Latinas), the Junior National Step Team of OPBSI. Last year, OPBSI raised over $1,000, which made it possible for them to purchase new costumes, supply snacks for weekly practices and pay for travel expenses to local colleges/universities as part of educational programming for the S.O.U.L. Featured sponsors for the event are: OPBSI National Board of Directors, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc., Lambda Sigma Upsilon Fraternity, Inc., National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), SoulFritoForYourSoul.com and Latinosstep.com. The Mistress of Ceremonies will be Caridad "La Bruja" De La Luz, noted spoken word artist. The show will feature performances by Omega Phi Beta's Soul Steppin' Divas and the young ladies of the S.O.U.L. step program. "We have been preparing for this ever since the last summer's show" says Jessica Morales, "Bringing It Back Tour" producer and Chair of the NST Board of Advisors. The event will also highlight a special unity step performance including WFB, SLU and other members of the top ten Latino Step Teams around. Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. was founded on December 1, 1987 at Binghamton University as an organization that would provide sisterhood and support while also promoting academic achievement, service to the community and cultural enrichment. Seventeen years since its establishment, the organization has expanded to more than 30 schools across the country, touching the lives of over 300 women.
