September 13, 2000
NEW YORK, NY Join Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Seņoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. in
supporting our Hermana Jacqueline Sirgo as she joins 3,000 other brave participants in the
annual AIDS Ride.
Hermana Jackie will be pedaling for three days, conquering 275 miles from Boston, MA to
New York City from September 15 17th.
Join us on Sept.17 at 23rd Street and 8th Avenue (west side corner) as we welcome Hermana
Jackie back and show our thanks for her dedication to making a difference in HIV/AIDS
research and communities. Through her efforts, Jackie has raised close to $1,700 in
pledges from family and friends. Since 1994, AIDS Rides participants have raised and sent
$65 million to AIDS charities across the nation.
As a result of Hermana Jackie and other participants dedication, incredible things
will happen:
***Hotlines, outreach and educational campaigns will help stem the spread of this illness.
***Thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS will experience a radical improvement in the
quality of their lives.
***Many will receive freshly-prepared, home-delivered meals, life sustaining HIV
medications and a network of support.
