| La Hora del Cuento ... Want to practice Spanish? Like reading to and playing with children? Join us as we read Spanish and Latino-themed books to Ithaca youth followed by arts and crafts. Everyone is welcome! The Hermanas of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Seņoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. and the Latino Civic Association of Tompkins County invite you to La Hora del Cuento (Spanish Story Time). Be a part of introducing Ithaca youth to bilingualism and fostering multicultural tolerance.

| Girlfight: ... the culture of girl-on-girl hate, gossip, rejection, and exclusion and how we can work to stop it. Join the Hermanas of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Seņoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. and the Devastating Divas of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we sit down and openly discuss the culture of girl-on-girl hate, the nature of gossip, the severity of exclusion, and how we can stop it from happening. We will be joined by Dr. Carla Golden, a Women's Psychology professor from Ithaca College, who will help us answer why women do this to each other and how sociological and historical factors within our patriarchal society play a role in the conflicts among women today. |
