The Eta Chapter at Syracuse University was established on March 28, 1992 by six ambitious women. These women were: Hermana Monica Y. Sarmiento, Hermana Kristin A. Perez, Hermana Windy E. Quiñonez, Hermana Arlene I. Morales, Hermana Rosann Santos, and Hermana Digna A. Marte.

Since then, the Eta Chapter has been involved in numerous community service programs including mentorship programs, tutoring programs, recreational programs, adopting families at Christmas, Adopt-a-Child, Bishop Forey Halloween parties, AIDS education, Slocum Heights Children's Fair, and the Latino Youth Conference.

The Hermanas of the Eta Chapter strive to create unity amongst all women who uphold the ideals of our sisterhood. As well, we envision ourselves as women eager to reach out to all members of our community and offer support. As Hermanas we continue to guide each other towards a path that will uplift our people every where.
