Sigma Lambda Upsilon

HISTORY

On April 27th, 2001, the Chi Chapter was established by Hermana Diagneris Garcia "Ejemplar" and Hermana Blanca Padilla "Veloz”. These two women felt there was a strong need to bring an organization to the Boston Area that would foster Latina leadership, community service and above all sisterhood. After researching several other sororities, they sought out the Hermanas of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. where they found these values embodied. They later pledged alongside the Iota Line of Delta Chapter (Brown University), Hermana Marlenny Anziani "Esférica" and Hermana Rosanna Castro "Superante".

Chi Chapter is currently a citywide Chapter that has Hermanas from Boston University, Tufts University, Brandeis University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
